Festival of the Future

Dream type: Transformation

The start of 2011 sees California embark on an ambitious PR campaign to re-brand itself in effort to boldly go where no state has gone before, declaring the coming Decade of the Future and claiming the title, State of the Future. The zeitgeist-defining move catalyzes the popular imagination with an unprecedented solidarity and a singular vision of unity: a healthy, creative and prosperous future for CA, the nation, and humanity. The centerpiece: Festival of the Future - an annual celebration capturing the spirit of a New Future Age, one driven by foresight, innovation, sustainable solutions and proactive synergies.

Positive Futures Arts and Media

Dream type: Transformation

As an LA based filmmaker and artist I will have sold projects that portray a more positive future for humanity as a result of my work with the Millennium Project's Global Arts and Media Node http://www.millennium-project.org. I will have a TV series on the air and web that I am producing with a great team that showcases futurists, innovators, visionaries and inventors and their solutions for a better future in all areas of life -- education, health and medicine, entertainment, business, fashion, home lifestyle, travel, transportation, science, etc. This show will inspire viewers to see a vision for a more evolved humanity and hope for a better future. Ideas that will inspire creation and implementation. http://www.c3so.com

Breathing Deeply Again

Dream type: Growth

Realizing that fossil fuel use cannot completely be curtailed within a timeframe of 10 years, California capitalizes on its reputation as a green state and develops giant carbon scrubbers. These dot the landscape like windmills, and are able to cleanse pollution from cities, airports, and factories. Los Angeles, the one-time smog capital of the world, is now a paradise of fresh clean air. The construction of these enormous towers leads to millions of green jobs. These towers are shaped like giant trees and are affectionately called "Beanstalks". Children ride their bikes and skateboards outdoors without fear of asthma .

The Open Source School

Dream type: Transformation

Before heading to the lab I search online for TOSSers, the approximately 11.3 million refugees of K-12 schools and ivory towers/strip malls who form The Open Source learning network ("no idea excluded/no individual standardized"). Diagnostic fractals of the TOSS knowledge base look like an expanding coral reef Dr. Seuss drew with his toes. If you can find a guide to take you on, collaborate on a Purposeful Goal, and ask you the right Question(s), you're in. Welcome to the search for big ideas among every person, experience and document in existence. California is now a state of mind.

The Orpheus Project

Dream type: Transformation

California will host the most spectacular singular site ever envisioned as an international venue that blends the arts, medicine, and technology—strategically designed to awe, inspire, and simultaneously heal people around the world. The Orpheus Project is inspired by Orpheus, who moved the masses with the sweetness of his music, and inspired much of the literature, poetry, and drama of ancient Greece and Rome.

Noted change during these years are its specialty to use efficient and pollution free energy sources and nature-inspired designs in its technology and architecture. The citizens have to care not much about their basic needs because everything is available in plenty so all have enough time to focus on their aesthetics and transcendental way of life.

5 QUESTIONS - [ the departure to an utopian synthetic biology future ]

Dream type: Transformation

Year 2018 - the Anthroposophists are the scientific forefront in Synthetic Biology. The story explores one possible future for Synthetic Biology through an paradigm- shift. This made it possible to create a synthetic world tailored to the holistic mindset of the Anthroposophical Society. It raises the question how far we would go with engineering the nature to our needs and how this could be justified with fairly questionable thinking.

A Calling of Humanity

Dream type: Transformation

December 25th 2020. I’m 33 today and filled with hope and gratitude. Project Evolve which started in California is now worldwide. The Golden State inspired the world through arts/entertainment and now leads us into the Golden Age. Project Evolve tapped into the shift in the human consciousness and created an interactive website. Connecting local citizens with common goals/interests to better their communities. We believed it would take technology and heart to bring harmony back to earth. It soon manifested into "Evolve" events/contests with workshops and research projects. Project Evolve has become a calling for all humanity to work together.

Schools Overthrown by Online Homeschooling

Dream type: Transformation

I'm a mother of two, living in the Bay Area in 2018. Like most other people I know, I've pulled my kids out of the failing school system. It was an obvious choice when I saw how many interactive, self-directed learning resources are out there now, free with the standard Internet connection that follows us everywhere. My kids love learning again, because they get to pick what's relevant to them and go at their own pace. The world is our classroom, and we find friends wherever we go. Much better than sitting in a backwards school box all day.

California Dreamin'

Dream type: Transformation

I dream of a California where creativity, compassion and conservation are our highest ideals. Instead of buying; we make. Instead of taking; we give. Instead of more; we enjoy and care for what we have. I dream of Californians with time to paint the sunset and create stories with their children, with time to talk to a friend or stranger, with time to plant a seed and enjoy nature, with time to create and build a solar and wind-powered sustainable economy. I dream of California Dreamin', where these dreams are reality.
